New Pottery Barn lights!

 

 Hi there! Hope you are having a great week! Soo progress! We managed to get these Pottery Barn lights hung up, and they are beautiful! I saw this chandelier back when we were living in the apartment and knew pretty quickly that it would be the one! I just love it when that happens...trying to make a decision on things around our house drives me nuts most of the time and then some things you see and its done! Soo I waited till it was on sale and snagged it at 20% off! What do you think? I am almost feeling a little howtie tootie about it but I think I'm gunna be ok.

We just love too how it lights up the evenings in here too. The dinning room looks awesome with the light going all through the beads. This is my first dinning room and so far I am thrilled with how it is turning out ! I am loving too how it makes quit the statement but is neutral too and can go with a lot of different styles.
I was having a hard time getting good pics but I hope you get the idea. This chandelier is a beast though to hang up! Our electrician had to get another guy to hold it for him..me..lol to get it up, so I would recommend you have help it is pretty darn heavy!
I still have a few things to do in here like get chairs and a rug. Rugs are so hard for me! Especially with kids and a lil dog I really don't want to spend too much ya know? So I am still looking for rugs in here and my living room. As for chairs I am thinking of going with navy blue wing back end chairs that make a little bit of a statement. I actually found some at Target online, so I might just go with those. As for the other chairs I have no idea. I keep looking through craigslist for something so maybe that will pay off here soon. Isn't craigs list great?

The other light that I purchased on sale there is this gorgeous star light! I am so excited to get going on my lil entry way makeover! I have BIG plans for it people! I have wanted this light in my entryway for quit a while acually since my last house, but had already put something up, so it got pushed back to never getting it done.

It looks beautiful also in the evenings really lighting up this part of this house! I also did just see this on Amazon or overstock so you might check their prices too if this is a light you want. I was thinking too that a couple of these would look beautiful on a back patio!

We have been so busy its nice to get some bigger things done! Now I gotta get goin on those kitchen lights!

Office/guest room

 Lately I have been working on our office which I decided a few months ago to turn into a guest room also since we don't have one. (such a bummer!) I have always wanted a guest room but until we get our basement finished that's not in the cards for our 1900 sq foot house.
So I came up with this fabulous;) idea to put a day bed in our office and make it a office and guest room. But since this is the first thing you see or room when you walk in our house, I wanted to take my time. I found this brass daybed on craigslist with a trundle.. this was the deal of the year. Seriously I had my evil laugh goin all  the way home...
So I am still in the process of getting things done as you can tell. The duvet I just picked up at Pottery Barn.. the pillows are a mix from Target and Home goods. I think it is definitely getting there! I need to do some new curtains maybe add some more art on the walls. Sorry the pics are not that great but I just snapped them quickly on my phone...the story of my life.

    Just love our doors...one of the best things we have done in our house..evidently I keep  forgetting to put knobs on the other side.. that little side table was a steal at TJ Max for only $25. Rug is from Cost Plus. The kids have already stained it with dirt and mud and it really wiped clean. I was pleasantly surprised!

 
This lamp drives me a little bit nutty.. think I will find another spot for it. Then I will fix that wall..

                          Ohh what? You Don't have a signed copy of Cameron's book?! LOL  Im goin for       brownie points here people

       I will keep ya updated and let you know when I have done some more! We are leaving  for Europe in May so I will probably concentrate more on it when I get back. You know so I actually have money for Europe. We also are getting new lights over our kitchen island so I will show you that soon! So stinkin excited to finally have that almost done!

Our new Acacia hardwood floor in the kitchen!

   Hi! I know I have been a horrible blogger... planning on changing that here soon!
I wanted to show you though the kitchen floor that we just redid! We are so glad it is finally over! What a project between trying to figure out what we wanted to do in here, how much money we wanted to spend, ect. The floor before was horrible and was coming apart all over the place. It was not done in the right place, so that just made it look even worse and have more problems. (No we did not do it). It was Pergo, and I think if it had been done right the first time it would of had been fine, but ever since we had put this Acacia wood floor in our entry way and office, we knew we wanted more of it, but it is expensive! So we himed and hawed about it forever and we just decided to do it and have a even look through the main floor of the house. And actually right after we bought our floor I saw over at Lowe's or maybe it was Home Depot tile floor that looks just like this! Could not believe it! It really looked good for tile floor, but we bought our wood and decided to just go with it and get her done. We have no regrets.

This is in our laundry room that we also redid the floor. I just love the two together! I am still workin on this room but will show when its done;)
We absolutely love this wood floor and would do it all over again! We did have our guy add some kind of water proofing around certain areas to block out and water or spills, so that makes me feel a lot better about that. Did not even know that you could do that. I also just absolutely LOVE how this floor hides everything! With three kiddos and a little dog that tracks in stuff all the time, the floor still looks great and hardly ever looks dirty. Dirt and stuff seems to blend in just fine..lol Who's got time for mopping??
So now we are debating whether or not to put it through the living room and then our main floor will be all wood. But our living room is around 460 sf, so it will be pretty expensive, but buying the wood on sale does help like we have with the other two rooms. It would be so pretty and I would not have to worry about keeping carpet clean down here anymore. So we shall see. I will keep you guys updated. What do you think?

Little changes around the house...

Lately I have been doing little odd and ends around the house and thought I would share what  I have been up too.

 I have been wanting a brass lamp on this table in the living room, and found one for $30 at Home Goods!

I have been wanting one of these little tables for our back patio too, but every time I see one they are $100 or more... so I snagged this one a couple days ago at Target on clearance for $35. Not sure If I will keep it blue or not  but for now it works. If I was really cool I would of had put some cute flowers on top of it...mom issues..lol

 I also decided we needed some snazzy doormats! I love the shape of these and love how they have jazzed up my out door space! I put one on the back patio too. Ikea $15 each

 Our garage door was looking pretty rough on the outside and it had been driving me nuts, so last week I got to painting and just kept going...

So much better now! I feel like it has made the garage look a little bit nicer now and we are loving the black! Eleven years of wear and tear now refreshed! Even the kids have said something about it..they notice everything!

 I was  also able to get these sweet little bookends from a consignment shop in Napa!

 We love our entertainment system.. added a lot of storage for us! From Ikea

I took this jar I have not been using and decided that all my little samples that have been sitting in a drawer from my Birtchbox needed to go somewhere. So I thought it would be cute to put them in this and have it for girlfriends when they come over. We dont have a guest bathroom so I have put it in the corner on the floor in our powder bathroom. I put it on the back of the toilet,but it is a large jar, and I feel like it is way too big and worrying too that some one will knock it off.

here is a pick.. not a great one , but you get the point. I like it! It is pretty cute in there! Oh and the plans that I have for my little powder bathroom! Cant wait to get that going!

Some new bedroom goodies...

Hi ladies! I have been wanting to share with you what I have been up to in the bedroom;) We really needed new bedside tables. We had old ones that were about ten years old from Pottery Barn, and frankly they never held up well even when they were new. So we headed down to Ikea and found these and we LOVE them! I did not think about how much more storage we would get for our room with these which we really needed! They are awesome and I love the look. Then I was over at Tuesday Morning and ran into this chair for only $200! I have been looking for a long tome for a chair and this was what I wanted that did not cost a fortune! I was so excited to find it! I'm still working on things like new pillows for bed and maybe different lamps but for now I like it! I put my necklaces up on the wall and painted our picture above our bed a gold brassy color. So I think I need lamps in a gold color.. I know what I want but just can't find them and don't want to spend a fortune on them in Ballard designs.  

What about you guys? Doing any bedroom improvements?

Cherry branches..

Hellloo there! So I have been feelin pretty branchie lately..lol, and have been wanting some cool branch or twiggy something in the house. For some reason it is hard to find stuff like that around here, but I was thinking that I would run over to Whole Foods and for sure they would have something! Sure enough they have these cool cherry branches that were only $10 for the bunch! I am just loving them! I keep moving them around the house! They add a nice touch to my mantle too.. for some reason I just can't seem to figure out how I want to decorate that thing.. I have no idea how long they will last but I was hoping for a couple of weeks... you think?

My new fiddle fig leaf tree!

I Have had my eye on one of these trees for awhile now and thought that one would look great in this corner of our living room. we have faulted huge ceilings so I thought it might work out well. What do you guys think?  I just love it! It is more beautiful than I thought it would be! I still need to find something to put it in so I am on the hunt! 

My girlfriend works for a company that takes care of plants so she was able to get it wholesale for me, or else I would of never spent the money on one! (Jamison was catching up on his Elmo:):)

I only hope I don't kill it...

My new Target mirror!

     Out of the corner of my eye I saw this waving its hand to me the other day at Target...

What a cool mirror? Where could I possibly put that?? Btw..do you like my new black door?

I am on a mission to organize and throw out a bunch of stuff in hopes that it makes our family feel calmer and organized or me so I am working on organizing this little spot..

     So it went home with me and hangs in my entryway now!

  They really are having some great mirrors there now! I am even thinking of one that I might use for our bathroom mirrors.. I am pretty sure that Target is going to take over the world. When nothing left is standing, yup Target will still be there!

Our new electric fireplace from.....Big lots?

Hi there! Yup Jeremy and I are now the proud owners of a new electric fireplace, and our toes are a lot warmer if I do say so myself! I was strolling through big lots in November and stumbled upon it. I remember thinking what?? Whoa! Where did you come from? Seriously Big Lots!?

We have been here for ten years now and I have looked on and off for a fireplace to go in this spot but could never find anything that I liked. I wanted something that had stone on it too. Cracks me up..I never go into Big Lots. It's just one of those stores that makes me feel really dirty.. haha

Here is the view from the kitchen. I suppose I need to take those pictures down that are above it. Just not too sure what to put there. I would really love one of those big bronze looking starburst mirrors. But that means I have to change the wall behind the chair.. and of course the mirror that I found is only $400 beans..(I know I need a bigger table behind the sofa..)

So I was thinking maybe this pictures that is hanging in my office? What do you think? I really would love to use something that I already have and not spend money. But now I am thinking this picture would look cool above my bed.. stink 

They did have a lot to choose from. I was really surprised! And now is the time to snag one if you are in the need because mine was on sale and because it was a floor model they gave it to me for and extra 10% off! So what do you think? Do you like?
